Medical Reserve Corps

Are you interested in volunteering for your community?
Do you and your family want to be better prepared in case of an emergency?

Then join the Pueblo County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC).

The Pueblo Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is recruiting volunteers to support the work of local public health. Your involvement as a volunteer will help to ensure that people or animals affected by a disaster will receive the assistance and medical care needed.

This includes medical and non-medical in one of following three categories: licensed and certified health professionals, volunteers with public or environmental health backgrounds, and general volunteers. There is no cost to join.

Volunteers will receive free training, education, and also have the opportunity to participate in drills and exercises that will prepare them to help answer “hotline” calls, set up materials for possible mass vaccination clinics, and provide basic medical services.

Volunteers can also act as greeters or assist with registration during an emergency, distribute education at health fairs and special events, and much more.

If you are interested in joining the MRC, contact one of the following members of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team: Vanessa Brazee or Margaret Comstock.
