The health department has been involved with many policies and efforts in the community to:

  • Prevent children from buying tobacco products.
  • Promote ways to help people quit.
  • Protect everyone from secondhand smoke and other exposures.

    Amended Youth Possession Law

    Colorado Mission of Mercy 2017: Provided Education and Quit Smoking Resources for clients

    Freedom From Smoking: Provided Training from American Lung Association

    Smoke-Free Housing Policies:  Supported Housing Authority to create Smoke-Free Public Housing

    Smoke-Free Parks in Canon City: Supported to develop a policy prohibiting Smoking Near Recreational Areas
