Veterans’ Service Officer

The Pueblo County VSO assists veterans and their dependents with information regarding VA benefits to which they are entitled. The VSO advises and counsels veterans and their dependents in filing VA claims with the federal VA. The VSO also visits nursing homes, restricted institutions and goes on home visits to the housebound.  The VSO requests medical and military service records in support of VA claims and directs veterans to VA medical facilities as needed. The VSO supervises other staff in the program and gives talks and presentations regarding veterans’ benefits to various groups.

Assistant Veterans’ Service Officer

Stephen Dill

The Pueblo County Assistant VSO assists veterans and their dependents in obtaining VA benefits to which they are entitled. The Assistant VSO advises and counsels veterans and their dependents in filing VA claims with the federal VA. The Assistant VSO also does outreach to homeless veterans by visiting homeless shelters and the community soup kitchen to assure that homeless veterans have the opportunity to apply for veterans VA benefits including VA medical benefits. The Assistant VSO requests medical and military service records in support of VA claims and directs veterans to VA medical facilities as needed. The Assistant VSO acts as an advocate for veterans’ issues and helps promote VA benefits by giving talks and presentations regarding veterans' benefits to various groups.

Renee Franklin

Performs administrative and clerical tasks to support the operations of Veteran Services. Provides administrative, clerical and claims support to the County Veteran Service Officer and the Assistant Veteran Service Officer. Communicates and interacts with the public and other County agencies concerning veterans’ issues.

Performs supervision for the Pueblo County Veteran Service Officer, Child Support Division and Pueblo Area Agency on Aging.
