Economic Crimes Unit

Homicides grab the headlines, but bad checks, fraud and white-collar crime affect far more people and seriously damage our community.

  • White collar crime and consumer fraud will be taken as seriously as violent crimes.
  • Economic crimes are often focused on the most vulnerable in our community -- the elderly and the needy -- and it is the role of this office to offer protection.
  • The Economic Crimes Unit will focus on addressing crimes such as:
    • Check Fraud
    • Credit Card Fraud
    • Identity Theft
    • Graft or Misuse of public or private funds
    • Criminal Impersonation
    • Consumer Fraud
