The office has been reorganized around specialized units where prosecutors focus on specific types of crime e.g. Crimes against People, Juvenile Court, Drug Crimes, etc.
A new Economic Crimes Unit is focused on white-collar crime, consumer fraud

Economic Crimes Unit
Homicides grab the headlines, but bad checks, fraud and white-collar crime affect far more people and seriously damage our community.
- White collar crime and consumer fraud will be taken as seriously as violent crimes.
- Economic crimes are often focused on the most vulnerable in our community -- the elderly and the needy -- and it is the role of this office to offer protection.
- The Economic Crimes Unit will focus on addressing crimes such as:
- Check Fraud
- Credit Card Fraud
- Identity Theft
- Graft or Misuse of public or private funds
- Criminal Impersonation
- Consumer Fraud
Community Outreach
The Community Outreach Unit focuses on projects and programs in support of the "Smart Justice" initiative. The unit:
- is the "eyes and ears" of the office, sensing community issues and opportunities.
- identifies and develops programs that prevent or reduce crime.
- develops partnerships with community organizations to implement programs.
- seeks funding (grants) to support office or community organization efforts.
Victim's Assistance
- Major commitment to supporting victims as the cope with the effects of crime.
- Single manager to oversee Victim's Assistance and Victim's Compensation.
- Located with attorneys tp promote involvement, managers office next to the DA.
- Furnishing a new victim's consultation room - comfortable space for difficult meetings.
- Victim's Compensation funds disbursed, $300,000 per year.
- Staffing provided for VALE Board as it distributes nearly $300,000 per year to organizations that serve victims.
