Pueblo Railway Museum
The Pueblo Railway Museum is a program of the Pueblo Railway Foundation ("PRF"). The mission is historic preservation of railroad equipment and history. The ultimate goal is to promote and foster an interest in railroading, the study and preservation of railroad history, the impact of the railroad on the history of Pueblo and the growth of the United States and related subjects for the education and satisfaction of all.
InfoZone News Museum
The InfoZone News Museum is an interactive news museum. The InfoZone News Museum's mission is to provide broader knowledge of news and information. The museum focuses on journalism, the First Amendment, historic news and current events that affect our world. The museum serves to promote the joy of reading and writing, to preserve and interpret the archives and artifacts of The Pueblo Chieftain and provide educational programs and exhibitions that enhance the Pueblo City-County Library District.
Mountain Biking
There is something for every type of mountain biker in the Pueblo area. From the beginner to the expert, you can find just about any type of trail in the 70 miles of trails immediately surrounding Pueblo.
Medal of Honor Memorial & Veterans Bridge
Pueblo is the hometown of four Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. This memorial honors each of these men with a life-size statue, and includes the engraved names of 3,400 other recipients. Visitors can learn the stories behind each name with a computer database and display inside the Convention Center. The database also features the stories of local veterans who are commemorated on the newly built Veterans Bridge, which sits adjacent to the Convention Center parking lot.
Pueblo Zoo
The friendly atmosphere of the Pueblo Zoo makes it a favorite attraction for families. Located in City Park, it exhibits more than 350 animals from 122 species, including several endangered animals. The zoo’s lovely gardens invite relaxing picnics. Its exceptional education programs are great for students of all ages. One of the most popular new exhibits features playful northern river otters.
Pueblo State Park
Colorado’s most popular state park, Pueblo State Park offers tons of water recreation opportunities, nearby hiking and bike riding, bird watching, and great mountain views. Ride a jet ski, relax on a sailboat, and enjoy some of Colorado’s best fishing.
Nature and Raptor Center of Pueblo
The Nature & Raptor Center of Pueblo is located in beautiful Rock Canyon on the banks of the Arkansas River. A delicate blend of aquatic, riparian, transition and semi-arid grassland habitats provide homes to a wealth of plants and animals. Dine in style at the restaurant overlooking the Arkansas River, enjoy an educational talk and demonstration about birds of prey, and bike along the extensive river trail network.
Bishop's Castle
This amazing one-man-made castle is part artistry, part craftsmanship and part entertainment. Nestled right along the edge of the San Isabel National Forest, the castle is still a work-in-progress – created only with the heavy labor of artisan Jim Bishop. Bishop is also well-known for his hand-painted signs and spontaneous soliloquies.
Pueblo Mountain Park & Beulah
Nestled in Colorado’s Wet Mountains, this 611-acre mountain park is serenely perfect for year-round hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and stargazing. The Park also hosts guided hikes, camps, yoga getaways, and toddler nature days. The Park’s historic and eco-friendly Horseshoe Lodge also offers amazing woodland accommodations for rejuvenation, exploration or adventure. Just a short drive from Pueblo, the Park lies in the Beulah Valley, a sleepy mountain abode that remains one of Colorado's best-kept secrets.
Sangre de Cristo Arts Center
With seven rotating galleries, the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center is a must-see stop for art lovers. The Arts Center boasts several art collections that embody the American Southwest, including: the King Collection of Western Art, the world’s largest repository of work by Printmaker Gene Kloss, and a growing collection of historic and contemporary Santos and Retablos.
