The 2020 Courthouse Lighting Ceremony is Tuesday, November 24 at 7 p.m. at the Pueblo County Courthouse in downtown Pueblo. This year we will honor educators and kids with a fireworks show coordinated to music, a 35-foot Christmas tree decorated with 3,000 LED lights in the Courthouse Rotunda and many other fun activities. The Courthouse Lighting Ceremony is funded with private sponsorship money. We do not use taxpayer money for this event. With that being said we are looking for businesses, organizations, and individuals to donate money to help support the event. In return for sponsorship we put your logo on all of our advertising materials and mention your organization on social media. Please visit www.pueblocourthouselighting.com to donate or learn more about sponsorship levels. In 2019 25 businesses raised a total of $25,000 to make the program extra special. The Pueblo County Courthouse Lighting started in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks. Former Pueblo County Commissioner Matt Peulen thought it would be nice to light up Pueblo’s Courthouse. The tradition of decorating the Courthouse has been going on since 1912 when it was constructed.
