Hazardous Materials Disposal
Currently, the city and county do not have a year-round drop-off center for accepting hazards from households. Many hazardous, toxic or poisonous materials can be safely disposed at home by adding fresh cat litter (a clumping agent) to make it a semi-solid.  Double bag the item and dispose in your weekly household trash.  Some items can enter the reuse market like motor oil, antifreeze, paint, mercury, cooking oil; call the Environmental Coordinator 719-583-4309 for information and the next possible collection event date in Pueblo.  Contact Safety Kleen Corporation located at 2841 E. 4th Street, Pueblo, CO 81001, (719) 544-1338 to handle large quantities from business, institutions and others for a fee.
