Celebrating 10 years honoring champions of public health in Pueblo

Wednesday, February 1, 2023 - The Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced nominations for the 2023 Public Health Champion are being accepted through Tuesday, February 28, 2023. The public is invited to nominate an individual, business, or organization for displaying significant contributions to Pueblo’s public health as a role model in our community.

The recognition of Public Health Champion began in 2012 for the health department to recognize individuals in Pueblo who worked to improve the community’s health over time. Over the past decade, the recognition grew from honoring a person to the nominations opening up to include businesses and organizations.

“The Public Health Champion is an opportunity for community members to highlight an individual, business, or organization’s significant contribution to Pueblo’s Public Health. As we continue to recognize more than a decade of those who contributed to Pueblo’s public health, we are excited to continue the tradition for our community,” said Randy Evetts, public health director at the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment.

Nominations may be sent to the health department through a short online form at pueblohealth.org. Nominations may not be of current public health staff or board of health members.
