Employee Benefit Eligibility for Pueblo County Employees:

Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield Medical (Voluntary)

  • Employees must work at least 30 hours per week
  • Spouse allowed coverage if legally married and/or common law is recognized (documentation needed)
  • Children and Step-children can continue coverage until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 26
  • Disabled children over age 26 if incapable of self-support and covered prior to age 26 (documentation needed)

Flexible Health Care Spending Reimbursement Account (Voluntary)

  • Expenses for medical costs in accordance to IRS guidelines
  • Pre-tax 'use it or lose it' dollars to reimburse expenses incurred in the same plan year

Flexible Dependent Care Spending Reimbursement Account (Voluntary)

  • Expenses to care for your tax dependent under age 13, or a disabled dependent of any age while you and your spouse both work or while one works and one attends school full-time
  • Pre-tax 'use it or lose it' dollars to reimburse expenses incurred in the same plan year

Standard Life Insurance and AD&D (Voluntary)

  • Two (2) basic choices of coverage and one supplemental additional coverage available
  • Spouse life offered but cannot exceed 50% of the total employee life coverage (EOI or Medical History Statement might be needed)
  • Child life offered at three (3) different amounts and applicable until the end of calendar year in which they turn age 26

Group Long Term Disability (Required)

  • Employees are eligible for Long Term Disability in the event they become disabled (90 days) while employed with Pueblo County

Group Life Insurance (Required)

  • Employees are eligible for the Basic Group Life Insurance plan while actively employed with Pueblo County.  There are options to increase their coverage as well as add coverage for their spouse and/or children.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP):

  • EAP is available for employees who want to discuss personal matters in a confidential and professional atmosphere.  The EAP is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Employees will receive (at no cost):
    • Three (3) visits per employee per year, per incident
    • Three (3) visits per family member per year, per incident (applies only to immediate family members living in employee's household).
