Natural Resources Division is dedicated to preserving and enhancing our region’s ecosystems through effective, best management practices. We adhere to the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s best management practices to control noxious weeds, protecting native plants and animal species from invasive threats. As project managers for the mosquito management program, we oversee contractors who conduct larva testing and counting, ensuring proactive measures to reduce health risks while maintaining ecological balance. Our forestry initiatives focus on sustaining healthy tree populations and include fire mitigation efforts at Rye Mountain Park, a vital community asset. Through targeted vegetation management and fuel reduction, we safeguard the Community and Pueblo County’s natural beauty, ensuring our county remains a premier destination for outdoor recreation.
