Accepting Applications for Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) Key Stakeholder Policy Committee

Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) provides an avenue for law enforcement officers to divert individuals struggling with low-level substance use into case management services instead of arresting or ticketing them. Officers can also refer substance users to LEAD without probable cause to arrest if they believe the individual can benefit from the program. LEAD also accepts referrals from the community when capacity allows.

The LEAD Key Stakeholder Policy Committee guides LEAD policy changes in Pueblo County. Meetings occur quarterly on the third Thursday of January, April, July and October from 3 – 4 PM.

The board is comprised of representatives from the Pueblo Board of County Commissioners, 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo County Community Corrections, Pueblo Department of Public Health & Environment, Pueblo Department of Social Services, Colorado Public Defender’s Office – Pueblo, the Case Management Provider, and three (3) Community Representatives who have been impacted by substance use.

Applications will be accepted through Thursday July 31, 2025.  To apply, go to county.pueblo.org, select Departments, Boards and Commissions.
