  • Pueblo County Commissioner, District 2

Paula McPheeters is a dedicated community leader and Pueblo native. She and her husband, Ron, have two sons, Grant and Vance, and enjoy life in Pueblo West with their spirited rat terrier, Riley.

Paula’s deep Pueblo roots and her parents’ hardworking backgrounds have instilled in her a strong sense of community and volunteerism.

Paula graduated from South High School and earned a degree in political science from the University of Southern Colorado (now CSU Pueblo). Her career began in politics, interning for a senator and then working for a congressman before transitioning to higher education.

With 28 years of experience at Pueblo Community College, Paula held a variety of positions, the last being the Director of Grant Compliance. Paula also pursued graduate work at the University of Colorado at Denver earning a master’s degree in public administration. That background was complimentary to her responsibilities in both budgeting and grants management.

Paula is actively involved in her community, having served on various boards, including the Pueblo County Marijuana Sales and Excise Taxes Oversight Committee. She is also a member of Pueblo Rotary 43. In her free time, Paula enjoys outdoor activities with her family and friends, traveling, and volunteering.

As County Commissioner, Paula aims to expand common ground and move the community forward with a focus on public safety, infrastructure, economic development and improving government accountability and transparency.
