Q: Do I have to schedule my grocery pick up through the app?

A: Yes, you need an appointment to pick up your food. We would prefer you schedule on your own with your own device. If you are already certified please text “FOOD” to 1-877-644-3663 and follow prompts. If you cannot due to not having a cell phone or computer, please call 719-583-6199 to have a volunteer assist you with registering, scheduling, or recertifying. If you are not certified please text “INTAKE” to 1-877-644-FOOD to complete the intake process.

Q: Do I have to register if I’m already registered and active?

A: Depends on length of time since you last picked up food, or recertified. If it has been over a year since you have picked up food or the household size or household income has changed then text “INTAKE” to 1-877-644-3663 to apply or to update your information. If it has been less than a year and your information has stayed the same, text “FOOD” to 1-877-644-3663 to schedule your food distribution.

Q: What happens when I am not scheduled and arrive at the distribution location?

A: You will be directed to schedule by texting “FOOD” to 1-877-644-3663. You will receive a text with a link to a form that will need to be completed in order to schedule your pick up time. If there are available appointments for that day you will be able to schedule your food pick up, if there are no available appointments you will choose another date and time.

Q: How do I recertify or certify for the first time?

Q: What if I need to change information in my account that is dependent on my program qualifications? Example- Household members, income

A: Text “INTAKE” to 1-877-644-3663. You will receive a text message with a link to a form that will need to be completed in order to update your program qualification information.

Q: What if I need to change information that does not impact my program qualifications? *Examples- phone number, first and last name

Q: What do I need to sign up a new Household Member?

A: Text “INTAKE” to 1-877-644-3663. You will receive a text message with a link to a form that will need to be completed in order to update your program qualification information. You will need to upload an ID, Birth certificate, or Social Security card into your online application for each household member.

Q: What if my household has different families living at the same address, example, I rent a room, or we keep our households separate?

A: According to USDA Policy, households are defined by postal address, not by individual household members or families. Households must be combined if at the same address. Address will be verified by postal service and intake staff.

Q: Do I still need my white card?

A: No, you will be identified by phone number, Name, Date of Birth, and Address.

Q: What happens if I miss my appointment?

Depending on when you reschedule, you take the chance of not being served due to caseload restraints.

Q: Is there a printed calendar?

Q: What if I only have a landline or no phone?

A: You can have a relative, friend, neighbor, aid, proxy help you with all aspects of certifying, scheduling, etc. with any cell phone. If you have no one that can help, we have volunteers to assist you at 719-583-6199, please be patient, only one phone line.

Q: What if my car has multiple families in it, or I’m picking up for more than myself?

A: Only those scheduled will be served! Please ensure everyone you are picking up for is scheduled for the same time slot and date to get service. Once you arrive at the stop sign outside the distribution each family that has a scheduled pick up will need to text “HERE” to 1-877-644-3663 to check in for their food distribution.

Q: Can a proxy still pick up for me?

A: Yes, a proxy can pick up after you schedule your pick-up time. Text “FOOD” to 1-877-644-3663. You will receive a text with a link to a form that will need to be completed in order to identify who your proxy is and what time they will be picking up your food.

Q: What if I’m early or late?

A: If you are early, the system will ask you to come at your scheduled time, if you are late the system will ask you to reschedule your appointment. Please try to come at the top of the hour to ensure we have enough time to process your food pickup.

Q: Can I schedule a same day pick up?

A: Yes, if slots are available. Always schedule before leaving home to ensure you will be served. The calendar will be available 30 days in advance.

Q: How often do I schedule to pick up?

A: You can schedule your food pick up once a month. We suggest scheduling your next pick up right after you pick up your food.

Q: How do I know if I’m approved or denied?

A: After you submit all information you will be notified by text when the status of your application changes.
